My Homecare Carers – More than just a job
There is so much more to being a carer than just making the odd meal, helping our service users get dressed etc.
When possible we like to share what it is our carers do for your loved ones.
This is one of our carers Val and Sheila (our client of 18 months) husband Dave. Val is taking Dave to visit Sheila who is temporarily staying in a residential home. Sheila receives 4 calls a day from our team of carers and relies on her supportive husband Dave for added help day to day.
Unfortunately recently Dave collapsed and injured himself leaving him unable to drive and care for Sheila, the doctors have advised that Dave needs lots of rest and insisted Sheila is temporarily staying in a nearlby nursing home to make sure he rests properly…this however does not get in the way of this pair of lovebirds. At Dave’s request our carers drive Dave to the care home to visit his beloved wife, he spends the afternoon with her chatting and holding hands. The pair have been married for over 50 years and cannot wait to be reunited back home together next week.
